The Long Rain

The Long Rain  Is a 2D Unity top down game coupled with mini games. Narratively, it is about a cat trying to pass the time until the storm stops.

Development took over the course of three days.

Environmental Design

The goal for the environment art was to establish a feeling of isolation, curiosity and overall set the tone of the main character’s home. Since I made all the calls for environmental art, I focused on delivering a detailed scene to showcase the main characters personality. The visual touchstones I used to establish a cozy home were bold heavy lines, earthy colors, and straight lines.

Asset Art

With the overall theme being isolation I wanted all the assets to give off the energy of stimulating and intuitive. Over the 3 day competition I worked closely with the programmers to establish the type of mini games they were making and what assets they would need. To start of my designs I was given boundaries of the mini games and what specific object was needed for the minigame.
